the full court press

the fam's begging me not to marry the guy i love!

My family and I have always been real close. Now that I am dating a guy in the military that whether in the military or not I most likely won't live close to my parents, and they know this. They don't like him because of the fact that he is going to "steal me away." I really am in love with my boyfriend, and we are talking about after the next deployment getting married. I don't want to make my family mad and cause trouble with them, but I will not give up on my chance of a happy life.

As I sit in the office of the back room of an (almost lcsoed) Denny’s I look at Todd and all the great things he has accomplished. I thought I had what it takes to be something in the world of magic. I was wrong. Todd has it all! Talent, looks, brains, cool clothes, a neatcar, a wonderful home, shag carpet, a fast riding lawn mower, perfect dental work, a great wife, and a heart of gold. He’s got what it takes to make itin this business. I mean, look at the people he hangs out with. Man! Todd, I want you toteach me everything you know. All the moves, how to stand, how to smile, and how to getthat big check! Just know my friend, I pray for you every night. You truly are the best.

Two worlds colliding

30 year-old from NYC

My girlfriend and I come from totally different backgrounds (she’s Pakistani and I’m Indian). Her parents just visited town for her 25th birthday, and she didn’t invite me out with them. In fact, she didn’t call me until they left the city! If we can’t let each other into our lives, what’s the point?

Well, if you really love each other then you shouldn’t be ashamed of it or anything and just hide it from your parents!

How young is too young?

40 year-old cougar in Phoenix

My son’s 18 year-old friend came over for a pool party last week, and I couldn’t help but notice he’s all grown up. I mean, he’s like a young Antonio Banderas. I’m a hot divorced mom playing the field and wondering: how young is too young?

I agree. That would not be a pleasant experience at all for your son. Not only would he lose a friend, he would probably be pretty freaked out by the idea. It may be convenient because his friend is around but… that’s equivalent to dating a close friend’s ex. You can find someone else without ostracizing someone close to you.
