I have a friend that I have known for about 3 months now, we have gotten really close. We are both Virgos, though he is 2 years younger than me. Initially, we were attracted to each other, and we actually slept together a month ago. After wards, we agreed that neither of us is ready for a relationship right now (He is dealing with some depression and still getting over an ex, I just have intimacy issues and don't know how to be in a relationship), and that our friendship is too valuable to compromise with casual sex. We get along so well and can spend hours talking and hanging out. We had a discussion about things the other night, and he was saying that he had never been able to sleep with someone and then just be friends. There seems to be some grey area in our relationship, we both feel a strong emotional and physical connection, that we cannot act on. We are just friends, we aren't physically involved anymore. However, the physical attraction is there. Also, we both find it hard to see each other with another person romantically without feeling jealous. I know I can keep my emotions in check, but he is not sure that it will work out. He keeps saying that he is afraid of hurting me. I really want to be there for him while he is dealing with this depression, especially since I am one of the few people he talks to about it. I think it would be selfish of me to pursue a relationship with him right now, but I really want him in my life. Does anyone else have any experience with this? Is it possible for us to be such close friends considering our emotional and previous physical involvement?
