Alicia & Swizz: Like Walking Across Hot Coals

Singer/songwriter Alicia Keys and rapper/DJ/producer Swizz Beatz (a.k.a. Kasseem Dean) may not seem like the most obvious couple, but just take a look at their wedding photos. You know–the ones at that gorgeous, private ceremony in Italy? Where Alicia, who’s pregnant with Swizz’s baby, is all decked out in a Vera Wang dress and looking like a total goddess? And where Swizz is all dapper in a Tom Ford tuxedo?
Well, their wedding may look picture-perfect, but the couple has had to overcome a TON of issues along the way to the altar: Swizz has been involved in a nasty divorce with R&B singer Mashonda, who wrote an open letter confronting Alicia about their love triangle last fall. So Moonit’s checking in to see if these two are destined for drama or have a chance at making beautiful music together.
According to their birth date analysis, Alicia (born on January 25, 1981) and Swizz (born on August 30, 1978) are in for a relationship that’s like “walking across hot coals.” We’ll explain… When they first locked eyes, “there were some serious butterflies in their stomachs.” That feeling might have been “a really good sign…or a case of incredibly bad indigestion.”
Alicia “soon realized how much he can get to her,” and that Swizz could easily “become the focal point of her life.” These red hot feelings between them were obviously powerful enough to break up Swizz’s four-year marriage to Mashonda, who was pregnant with Swizz’s child at the time.

Moonit hopes Alicia and Swizz are “ready for a relationship that’s going to be emotionally and physically demanding” — it’s “exciting but also pretty scary when you feel so strongly about someone that you can’t control yourself around them.” Alicia, in particular, “has to hold back her tendency to try and control” this partnership. Take ‘er easy, diva. Power struggles this early on in a marriage seem a little less than healthy, no?
Moonit urges these two to “give this thing a shot,” but to “try to keep their heads on straight and stay within their comfort zones.” When feelings of “jealousy and possessiveness come into play,” Alicia and Swizz have to “be able to talk through [their issues] and squash them as they crop up.” Take it from us: “if you can walk across the hot coals with this one and come out on the other side unscathed, this relationship could very well be the most satisfying you’ve ever had.”
