Isla Keeps Sacha In Check
What do you think?
When you’ve been engaged for six years (and you already have a two-year old together), people don’t really get that excited when you finally say…“I do.” It’s more like:
“But didn’t you…? I mean, weren’t you already…?”
“Nope! Now we’re married!”
“Oh!”
“It’s official! We put a ring on it!”
“Um. Cool.”
“For real! 2-getha 4-eva! Woooooo!”
“Yeah. Should I…I mean, should I buy you something? Or…something?”
“Nope! Just revel in the beauty that is our marital bliss! Rock ON!”
“Oh.”
[awkward silence]
Even still, we kind of got psyched when long-term-ers Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher made it official. The two tied the knot in Paris last week, and legalized their love with a low-key, traditional Jewish ceremony. Since they’re willing to make the ’til-death-do-us-part commitment, we figured we’d gift the comic couple with a special present: a diagnostic of what makes them tick.
Check out Moonit’s analysis of other goofball relationships.
According to their birth date analysis, Sacha (born on October 13, 1971) and Isla (born on February 3, 1976) work because they, “share the same thirst for excitement and lust for life.” These two “work uber-well as a team,” which is really helpful for Sacha; his “need for action” gets him into some sticky situations. By now, Isla pretty used to bailing him out, and her willingness to pitch in makes her serious wife material. Plus, her optimism gets him “pumped up and inspired, even when things are looking bleak.” (We can definitely think of a few low points AHEM ass-planting into Eminem’s lap at the MTV VMAs AHEM.)
Sacha’s a little too much for some, but oddly enough, these two aren’t, “in too much danger of stressing each other out or getting on each other’s nerves…this can be an exciting (and possibly exhausting) combination, but you’ll thoroughly enjoy yourselves and get a lot done when you’re together.” Even though things can “get chaotic with him around,” Isla always “keeps him in check,” and makes sure things “don’t go off the rails.” Still, Moonit urges them to, “try to keep the drinking and debauchery to a minimum; you’ll be needing all your faculties when you’re together.”

But there’s more to watch out for. Isla and Sacha’s friendship assessment says that a, “get-together with him can sometimes make Isla feel worse than talking to a Bangladeshi call center.” Moonit explains that this is because Isla, “tends to communicate more with feelings and intuition,” while Sacha’s usually, “the more rational of the two.” (If you can believe that.) The answer? “All they need to do is talk things out.” After all, “it’s altogether possible that you two are up for the challenge, and don’t mind when a bit of drama spices up your lives.” A bit? That’s the understatement of the century.
