Karina’s New “Situation” on DWTS
What do you think?
On “Dancing with the Stars,” pro partner Karina Smirnoff keeps pairing up with guys who have, shall we say, strong personalities, on and off the stage. (*AHEM* “Bad Boy of the Ballroom” Maksim Chmerkovskiy and “Manscaped Within an Inch of His Life” Mario Lopez *AHEM*.)
Now, DWTS has announced that, in season 11, Karina will be adding another strong-minded womanizer to her dance card: the infamous Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of “Jersey Shore” fame.
Since Karina’s got a history of falling for her DWTS partners, we at Moonit feel a social responsibility to offer up some much-needed advice before this new working relationship gets out of hand. (And before we even run a compatibility scan, we’ll throw out Tip #1: penicillin, Karina, and lots of it.)
According to their birth date analysis, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (born on July 4, 1982) and Karina Smirnoff (born on January 2, 1978) should avoid “texting under the influence” while they’re spending all that training time together. That’s because “this relationship has all the sizzle of ‘One Night in Paris.’”
“These two are all about role-playing and pushing the envelope on the craziest hook-up scenarios they can concoct. (We hope a hottub’s not involved. If you’ve ever watched “Jersey Shore,” you know that Mike can turn any whirlpool into a Petri dish.)
Snark aside, there’s good stuff to consider, too. “Life gets a whole lot more interesting when these guys are together. They bring out the spontaneity in each other…[and] it’s not hard for them to yank each other out of their respective comfort zones.”
Clearly, they’re “always on the same page in the bedroom,” but we’re not so sure “how well that translates to other areas in their lives.” And “they’d better feel that other stuff out before making any plans beyond maybe next Saturday”–especially since Mike’s “likely to put on the full-court press,” and Karina “might still be figuring out whether or not they belong in the ‘friend zone.’”

How does that apply to their partnership? “Don’t overdo it with the ‘late night talks’ and save the poetry collection for someone else.” Mike might want to “take a more subtle approach,” or he’ll risk scaring Karina off. In any case, they should “consider keeping their options open while they figure out if they have shared interests beyond the physical. Until then, we have one request: chlorinate that pool when you’re done, please.”
