Country music darling Taylor Swift and little-known British actor-turned-California bad-boy Toby Hemingway just started dating two seconds ago, and everyone’s already in a tizzy about it. To sum up, Taylor met Toby on the set of her music video for A Rose to the Fallen, and it was game over; since then, the two have been spotted on various romantic rendezvous.

But why is everyone so up in arms? Here’s the lowdown. Taylor is, well, Taylor. She’s adorable. She’s squeaky clean. She can make Kanye crumble in one fell swoop. And Toby? He’s 27, he spends his time smoking up with Chace Crawford (and then uploading the incriminating photos to Facebook), and he may be two-timing Taylor with former “The OC” chica Willa Holland.
