Why did Nikki and Paris Combust?

Jet-setting socialite Paris Latsis might not have a *job* job, but he’s made a career out of bagging the latest “it” girl. (Perhaps the Greek shipping heir thinks “M.B.A.” stands for “Many Blonde Acquisitions”?) His most recent merger was with Nikki Reed of Twilight fame; right around the time Reed garnered attention for her turn as Rosalie Hale, she and Paris became a not-so-coincidental item.

The couple dated for almost a year (which, in Hollywood time, is basically a geological era), but this week, Nikki announced their romantic demise. In a very Kelly-from-the-first-90210 move, Reed stated that she plans to lay off relationships for a while to focus on herself. (Yikes. That bad, huh?) According to their birth date analysis, Nikki (born on May 17, 1988) and Paris (born on August 8, 1979) make for a white-hot duo, and their attraction levels are way “off the charts.” It’s one of those situations where they just can’t keep their hands off each other, and while that may be great for the bedroom,  it makes for awkward family reunions.

(”Paris, could you pass the potato salad? Oh. Oh, dear. So. I’ll just let you two finish the tongue Olympics…”) As we all know, when things get this hot, they can be pretty combustible; for better or worse, this pair never really gets past the “thrill of the chase” phase.

If these two try for a real-deal, long-term relationship, they’ll inevitably subject themselves to a host of issues that could bring even the most stable couple down: possessiveness, jealousy and all kinds of emotional baggage.
